Most Addis-based agencies subcontract southern trips to guides they've never met. The itinerary was written by someone who visited once in 2019. Your guide will have a laminated card with village names on it. He will not know anyone there.
02 — What Daniel gives you
Daniel has a phone number for the Karo community elder. He has attended two Hamar ceremonies as a guest, not a tour operator. His uncle married into a Dassanech family. These are not selling points — they're just facts about where he grew up.
03 — The honest limitation
Daniel works alone. He runs one group at a time. He doesn't scale. If you need 40 people coordinated across four vehicles with Wi-Fi at camp, he is the wrong guide. If you want to actually go — he is the only one.
